Abstract

It is a well-established fact that the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) serves as the best model for every person and the practical interpretation of the Quran. Therefore, a complete understanding of his sayings, actions, and commands-Hadith-holds the utmost importance. The Muhaddithin (scholars of Hadith) have worked diligently to compile the Hadith into collections like the Sihah Sittah and many other Hadith books. One such collection is Al-Jami’ At-Tirmidhi. This book of Hadith is extremely beneficial and has been subjected to various detailed commentaries. Different scholars have organized its methodology and procedures according to their understanding and established rules for their work. One such commentary is written by Maulana Sayyid Husain Ahmad Madani. The scholar has adopted an extremely fine and good approach to explaining this book. It is composed of a single volume and is written in Arabic. In jurisprudential issues, he has provided detailed explanations of the views of the commentators and scholars, their differences of opinion, comparisons, and agreements in a very good and easy way for a common person to understand. He has also explained the difficult terminologies associated with Hadith. The scholar has briefly and sometimes in detail described the biographies and lifestyles of the narrators. In his lectures, the scholar has even clarified the status of narrations in light of the principles set for Hadith. Additionally, he has responded comprehensively to all objections raised against Hadiths.
