Abstract

Environmental pollution is one of the most critical challenges of the modern era, adversely affecting human health, ecosystems, and the natural balance of the earth. This research paper explores the causes, impacts, and prevention of environmental pollution in the light of Islamic teachings. The study highlights that the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah emphasize the protection of nature, the preservation of balance (mīzān), and the prohibition of corruption (fasād) on earth. Islam encourages cleanliness, moderation, responsible consumption, and the development of a harmonious relationship with the environment. The objective of this study is to raise awareness among Muslims about their religious and moral duty to protect the environment. The findings suggest that implementing Islamic environmental ethics at both individual and collective levels can significantly contribute to reducing pollution and promoting sustainable development.
