This is analytical study, discusses about Talaazma or association which is a sophisticated literary technique that establishes an absolute relationship among two independently existing words or states by way of their interrelationship. The interaction of these two distinct elements produces a cohesive meaning, which adds to the richness of the verse, as well as increasing the expressive power and aesthetic quality of the verse, thereby introducing both originality and grace to the style of poetry. Although the use of talaazma may involve simply pairing synonyms, the creation of an association of two or more words or of two concepts/ideas can also involve the use of contrasting or opposing states. By experimenting with different forms of associative connections, contemporary poets are continuing to redefine and revitalize both the nature of poetry and the means by which it is expressed, making it increasingly contemporary and sophisticated. This research paper explores and highlights the Talamza and relevant ideas through poetic discussions.
