Abstract

Islam is a comprehensive way of life that uploads peace, justice and protection of human dignity. The concept of Aman (security or protection) in Islam is not limited to a wartime tactic or political agreement; rather it is a moral, legal and spiritual commitment to safeguard the klife, property and freedom of all individuals- including enemies, non-Muslims and prisoners. The Quran emphazises the sanctity of life and the obligations to honour agreements of safety and protection. The prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) exemplified this through his actions, such as the constitutions of Madinah, the general amnesty ath the conquest of Makkah, and his humane treatment of prisoners. The era of rightly guided Caliphs further reinforced these principles by protecting non-Muslims religious right and ensuring justice for all. This article explores the legal definition, types and historical implementations of Aman in Islamic tradition and argues for its relevance in promoting peaceful coexistence in today’s society.
